Ad Astra: Survey

The Future of Ad Astra

I've recently started thinking about restarting Ad Astra development. My idea is to publish Ad Astra as a series of 128 or 64 page releases on paper pre-punched for insertion into ring-binders. The content will be fully revised and rewritten - the current website should be viewed as a first draft or sketch of the finished product. My intention is for Ad Astra to be the most sophisticated and realistic hard-sf game setting ever written.

The first release will be a 128 page book that contains a future history spanning the period from 2003 to 2286 and a description of the state of Sol System in the late 23rd century. An 8 page extract will be available as sample for free download. If this release sells well enough to make future releases economically viable, they will follow at approximately three month intervals. There may also be "service pack" expansions that extend the previously released material and which can be inserted at the relevant points in the folder.

All of this, however, is dependent on there being a sufficiently large market for the game setting. It would be really helpful if you could take a few moments to fill out this survey. Even if you wouldn't buy Ad Astra, the information will prove useful.
