Similar, but with a fundamental difference.  Both the above examples have
to do with organisms *from* space.  MY story will be about our own lack of
interest in our effect on other worlds coming back to haunt us, 'cause
these will be mutated viruses that WE took into space in the first place.

I keep thinking that they must sterilise the insides of probes and things
before they send them, but do they?  We're so concerned about what IT may
do to US, that we forget about what WE may do to IT.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I figured.  Look, it can't be much worse than
most of the skiffy dreck that gets made, can it?
