Why would I need to practice? Are you suggesting I'm bad at it? Or do you mean with you? I think rishathra with a sentient plant might be beyond both my present somatic morphology and my dignity. I don't think even my slutty 37% sister has ever tried that. Not that anything is wrong with plants. I mean no insult. It's just it would take another discarnation while a new body is grown; and I kinda like this one. [high-grade embarrassment glyph] Mari From: mariama_xi@yahoo.co.uk Subject: Re: The fifth planet?? Oooh! Memetic warfare! Every time my channel clears up and lets through some qubits, there's something exciting happening here! Is getting "killfiled" the same as having a mindstate erased? Isn't that a bit drastic a punishment for sending message packets without semantic content in tree-language linear ideoplastic formats? Do y'all have multiple mindstate backups? Is killfiling a pruning of the experiential clade? I just don't know what you're talking about most of the time but I want to! Anyway, what's so wrong with the Rating Drone? You'll all be in a terrible mess if you don't have machines to tell you what to think. Why, I'd rather be stuck in one collapsed state than have to do without an exoself, and here you are wishing for that fate! I'd heard about that in my Memetic Diversification intermentation. Isn't it a rather dull variant? Wouldn't you all rather watch knights and samurai throwing tacnukes at each other than people moving a small sphere? What ideologies do the teams espouse? Do discarnate clades facture baseline avatars to compete? I am sorry for so many questions. I appreciate your orbital towers and pyramids and consider Spice Girls fine memeticists and the invention of fire very nifty. I mean no insult. What are you all talking about? Is the "World Cup" some kind of planetary engineering contest? Iyrene tells me it's something to do with sphere and nets. Are those the nets we use in topology or something more like discretisation meshes? Do you use them to model the sphere? Do people ever enter worlds with more interesting topologies? Can I have a go? I think I'd have oceans of superfluid helium. Or maybe superfluid antihelium. That would be so cool. My jinn says it's something like an ordered sequence of linearised tree-level ideoplast arrays. Who'd ever use such a thing? You couldn't even express higher-order metaphor functors in such a pitifully impoverished data structure. Isn't communicating like that like talking in grunts? Huh? I'm just using a channel between decoherent branches in which the Solar System formed at different times. You people would not believe how hard it is to select branches in which the only local macroscopic change is this temporal shift - in most branches you're all dinosaurs or giant lemurs. I'd never, ever get away with playing fast and loose with the laws of causality. Do you have any idea how much it'd cost the faculty to generate coherent-historical superpositions? Even that is kid's stuff next to what this guy wants! He wants inconsistent histories! I'm just a poor memeticist and so have no idea if the geometers can even make such scary things, but I bet they can't or else there'd be some kind of huge fuss going on. Anyway, why doesn't he just make a scape of his life or reprogram his mind or something. Is he some kind of eccentric? Sorry about that last message. Iyrene thought it might be funny to mess with my language path preferences while I wasn't looking and I think things might've got a little scrambled by going through a language based on recursive metaphorics. She will suffer for this. > rumors of trebuchet abound. Are they a type of star-killer? Something to do with strangelet-catalysed implosions? The accretion fireworks were very pretty though - some of the other students were dropping patterns of hydrogen onto a neutron star, and it was heating up so much on impact that it was fusing and drawing animated pictures across the surface of the star. Even our instructors were amused, although they'd never glyph it. Do you make stealth V/TOL attacks on other tribes and boil prisoners in pots and eat them like God-Empress Victoria's tribe did with the Communists? This is just so exciting! not to mention rich's imaginary friend will. My conceptual mappings fail here. Is an "imaginary friend will" something like a beta-level sim? GSV Do You Have Any Information That Could Help Rich With His Thesis? What is the subject of her/his/its thesis? In any case, I'm not sure that tampering with your cultural development is ethical, and I'd hate to get into (any more) trouble. I'm going to watch the accretion fireworks some more. I think it's probably a typo in the Inter385 to English21 dictionary. The semantic instantiation at that transcoding is the most likely place that such an error could occur. Or perhaps it's a problem with the generic English21 dictionary not reflecting your local dialect. In any case, you really should upgrade your deep linguistic structures. Those linear languages you guys use are obsolete in essentially all branches. (My library says there are deep connections between your use of linear languages, your perverse attachment to one-dimensional algebras and your fondness for decoherence, in which case you really should upgrade your entire neural architecture - decoherent architectures are so third millennium.) So all pre-S1 lower toposophic entities were hexapods? How odd. Mari
